Monthly Favourites // January 2017

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my Monthly Favourites for January 2017. Firstly, I want to say a massive HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am so excited to be in 2017 now and looking forward to some great adventures! I hope you are too ūüôā¬†After December being a super¬†busy month for me, Christmas Blogger Q&A Series running on my blog throughout the month, I was really looking forward to a more relaxed January. That has not happened in the slightest, but I am not complaining!

What has happened this month:

  • Had my cousin visit me from Australia – I hadn’t seen her for 10 years and it was great to spend some time together.
  • I went to see a Pantomime – Dick Whittington at Birmingham Hippodrome.
  • Had a delicious burger at my favourite Handmade Burger Company in Brindley Place, Birmingham.
  • Visited Bridgnorth – A local village.
  • Made another visit to one of my favourite Cities in the UK – Liverpool!
  • Took a trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Stratford Butterfly Farm.
  • Had my nails done with Shellac again. This time I had Field Fox put on.
  • Finally got to go and see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London’s West End.
  • Had my first Bills Breakfast in Covent Garden.
  • Met up with some friends to go to Miller & Carter Steakhouse.

Monthly Favourites // January 2017

Film¬†–¬†Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone

In readiness to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, I decided to watch where it all began; Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I have to say that the First and Last films have to be my favourites.

TV Show – Brooklyn Nine-Nine & A Series of Unfortunate Events

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

While looking for a new TV series to fill my Gilmore Girls¬†gap, I came across Brooklyn Nine-Nine. After lots of people recommending it to me, I decided to give it a watch and I haven’t looked back. It is hilarious, fun and at times so silly. It really does cheers me up. I am already through Series 1…roll on Series 2.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Everyone surely know the original film of A Series of Unfortunate Events, right? When this scrolled across the top bar on my Netflix I got excited and loved the trailer.

Just before I was about to start watching the series, I heard very mixed reviews about the show. The first episode didn’t necesarily thrill me and I found it all a bit odd, and also very dark. With the cartoony set up of the show, I just didn’t know what to expect. I did enjoy the series (the last episode was odd though) and they have left it on a cliff hanger, so I imagine there could be a Series 2. We will see though…I would give it a watch.

Music – Ed Sheeran / Shape of You & Little Mix // Touch

What can I say? I have had these two songs on repeat this month.

Beauty – Clinique: High Impact Curling Mascara

After loving the Clinique High Impact Mascara for over a year now, I decided to look for another new Mascara. This time I wanted something to make my eyelashes more curled so decided to give this mascara a try. I will do a full review on it soon.

Food & Drink – Miller & Carter

For Christmas, myself and my boyfriend got a gift voucher for Miller and Carter. We went for a lovely Steak meal with our friends and it was delicious. I love the way that with your steak you get an onion loaf which tastes amazing. Also, my driving friends, if you have the AA Breakdown cover; you can also get 20% off Miller & Carter (including drinks if they are on the bill).

Place To Be – Stratford-Upon-Avon & Liverpool

If you read my blog often, you would know that I have recently visited Stratford-Upon-Avon. As I hadn’t been for years (since I was a child), I didn’t know what there was to do there. We found so much to do and learnt a lot about William Shakespeare and the history of Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Also, we visited the Stratford Butterfly Farm while we was there and it was fantastic. There is a full review of the Butterly Farm on my blog.

Shakespeare's Birthplace in Stratford-Upon-Avon Liverpool

I love Liverpool as it has so much to do and every time you go there is something different to see. With a mix of the Docks, shops, museums and food places; I think Liverpool is a great UK City to Visit. I have a blogpost on the Sightseeing Places you should see in Liverpool and most recently a Photo Diary which will be live in a week or so…so keep an eye out if you want to see that.
