Welcome back to my Christmas Blogger Q&A series. The series is running from 1st December right up to the big day. Today we welcome Rambling Woman.
I started Rambling Woman nearly a year ago. I have always loved to write and finally mustered up the courage to put myself out there. My blog posts are about a little of everything with a focus on my camping and travel adventures.
1) Where do you spend Christmas Day and what do you usually do?
My husband and I spend Christmas at home in our PJs. We sip on mimosas, watch Christmas movies, and make a homemade pizza for dinner.
2) Do you have any traditions which your family have or you have started?
Every year there is a Holiday Fun Run at the Trail of Lights in Austin. On the day of the Fun Run we drive out to a Christmas Tree farm to cut down our tree. We then stop for BBQ for lunch on the way home. After the Fun Run, we come home and decorate our tree with a Christmas movie playing. This will be our 5th year carrying on this tradition.
3) Which Christmas character would you like to be and why?
I’d have to say Kevin from Home Alone. He’s resourceful and has many adventures.
4) If you were able to invite 3 famous figures (past or present) to Christmas dinner, who would you invite and why?
Betty White – I think she’d be a hoot to have around.
Emma Watson – She seems like an all-around good person.
Charles Dickens – For a reading of A Christmas Carol
5) If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I enjoy being at home on Christmas day to enjoy our tree and be lazy. However, I wouldn’t mind visiting London or NYC around the holidays to experience the festivities in each of those cities. Last year, we left the day after Christmas to drive up to Colorado for a couple days.
6) Tell us your best Christmas cracker joke…
Sadly, I don’t have any….
7 ) In the past I have asked about your favourite song & movie, this year I’m asking, what is your favourite Christmas TV Special?
We no longer have cable, so I tend to miss any specials unless they air through a streaming service. There are however several movies I watch each year. My favorites are The Family Stone and Elf.
8) Do you own any Christmas Jumpers, and do you have any favourites?
I own a couple of sweaters that are worn only specifically for ugly sweater parties at work or with friends.
9) Do you usually hit the shops or do your shopping online?
I do the bulk of my Christmas shopping online however I do tend to pick up smaller items, like stocking stuffers, out at various shops.
10) Where is your favourite place to visit on the run up to Christmas?
While I don’t have a favorite, really anything geared around Christmas festivities I try to do. Whether it be the Holiday Fun Run or a Christmas Market, I try to enjoy them all!
Is there anything you have been proud of this year, and anything coming up in 2019?
Coming up in 2019, I plan to design a new blog logo and perhaps will do an eventual redesign. Other than that, I plan to continue publishing new posts and continue to watch Rambling Woman grow and my own writing improve.
As for 2018, I did create a couple posts that I’m particularly proud of:
The first is The Girl with the Red Umbrella which details the time and adventures I had with that trusty umbrella.
The second is a Camping Q&A in which five other bloggers share their own thoughts and adventures on camping.
