Welcome to day 11 of the Christmas Blogger Q&A. Today’s Christmas Q&A is with Victoria fromRetroSnowflakes.
Hey guys! I’m Victoria and I have a blog called RetroSnowflakes where I talk about lifestyle, mental health, fitness and sometimes food. Right now, I’m really focused on running and being more open and honest about topics that we find it hard to talk about such as mental health and barriers I face in my mid 20’s.
Question 1 – What’s your Christmas tradition?
One of my own personal traditions (My family don’t do this with me) is I’ll make myself a big cup of something hot (so either tea or a hot chocolate) and watch The Santa Clause (the one with Tim Allen) on Christmas Eve.
Question 2 – What is your favourite Christmas indulgence?
When I was younger, it was eating lots of chocolate from the selection box but now it’s going to the LUSH Boxing Day Sale even though I don’t need half of the products on sale. It’s still glorious though.
Question 3 – What is the best gift you have ever received?
I’ll always remember when I first got my Nintendo 64. I still have it all of these years later and I promised myself I would never sell it or give it away, because it was always such an important memory for me.
Question 4 – Are you an early gift buyer or leave them to the last minute?
I love being organised! I love writing lists for my friends and family, what I think they’ll like and then narrowing that list down. It’s so satisfying!
Question 5 – Do you have a favourite shop to buy gifts?
Boots is the big shop when you need to buy in bulk with that amazing three for two offers. This year though, I’m trying to buy more from local companies and small businesses and so far, it’s going very well.
Question 6 – Is there something which you always wanted for Christmas but never got?
I used to ask every Christmas for a K’Nex Ferris Wheel or Rollercoaster (It was always circled in the Argos catalogue!) but I was told that we didn’t have any room for it.
Question 7 – What is the most thoughtful gift that you brought someone?
I like to think I’m quite thoughtful in my gift buying. I tend to write down a set of idea for each person, what gifts go with that idea, and narrow them down. I very much cherry pick gifts rather than buy on a limb.
Question 8 – If you could be in any Christmas movie, which one would you be in?
Would it shock you to know that I haven’t watched a lot of Christmas films? Apart from my favourite Christmas film (The Santa Clause) I’m not sure what one I would want to be in.
Question 9 – What is your earliest Christmas memory?
I would say one of my earliest memories is probably going to see Santa at our local shopping centre. I couldn’t wait to see what he had given me.
Question 10 – What makes Christmas special for you?
I love the visuals of Christmas. The lights in town, the Christmas market, decorating the tree at home and wrapping the gifts. It’s stunning.
