Welcome to day 3 of the Christmas Blogger Q&A. Today’s Christmas Q&A is with Tasha from It’s A Tasha Thing.
It’s A Tasha Thing
Hi, I’m Tasha I’m 21 and I write my beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog http://itsatashathing.blogspot.co.uk/. I am also a Mummy to my beautiful little girl, Darcie
Question 1 – What’s your Christmas tradition?
We always buy advent calendars (maybe more than one, oops). We always take trips to local garden centres and look at all of the pretty lights and decorations there. Also, we always watch films like Elf, The Grinch, and The Polar Express etc. every year. I guess my Mum leaving all of her Christmas wrapping until Christmas Eve is one, you couldn’t walk into her bedroom. There would be gifts galore in there, all ready to be wrapped. Sometimes, the urge to get a little glimpse got too much for 7 year old me. She’s always made me up a ‘Santa sack’ to. I’ve also just thought of the ‘coca-cola’ truck advert! We always used to shout if someone wasn’t in the room to come in and see it. To me, it isn’t Christmas until the ‘pop lorry’ has been on TV. Now Darcie is here, I really want to start up a Christmas tradition of our own. I would love to hear what everyone else has in the way of Christmas traditions.
Question 2 – What is your favourite Christmas indulgence?
As I mentioned above, advent calendars are one of them. I have something like a ‘me to you’ one and then I’ll go a little more luxury with a ‘Lindt’ one. I love to indulge in the seasonal drinks that different places bring out.
Question 3 – What is the best gift you have ever received?
Wow, this is hard! I have always been so, so grateful for the gifts I have received each Christmas. I always used to love receiving my ‘Bratz’ dolls. All of the accessories you used to get. I remember my Mum got me the ‘Bratz’ ice rink one year, I was amazed! I didn’t even know they existed! Apart from that, I think and ‘Amazing Ally’, a ‘Barbie’ airplane and a karaoke machine.
Question 4 – Are you an early gift buyer or leave them to the last minute?
I think I’m one of those ‘on time’ people, if there is such a thing. I sort of start late September, early November time. I like to be prepared, but I don’t want to start too early.
Question 5 – Do you have a favourite shop to buy gifts?
I don’t really. I like to shop all around. I especially like little independent retailers and sellers; I always find real little personal treasures that you might not be able to pick up in big stores.
Question 6 – Is there something which you always wanted for Christmas but never got?
I don’t think there is anything. I have always made a wish list but if I don’t get everything on there I’m just thankful for what I have received. It’s not all about what’s under the tree; it’s who’s around it that really matters.
Question 7 – What is the most thoughtful gift that you brought someone?
As weird as this is going to sound, a ‘moonpig’ card. I know it’s not a gift but it was to my boyfriend on our first Christmas together. I really poured my heart and soul in to writing it. He still has it and treasures it.
Question 8 – If you could be in any Christmas movie, which one would you be in?
I would probably be in ‘Elf’, ‘The Grinch’ or ‘Miracle on 34th street’. I love all of those films so much to pick just one.
Question 9 – What is your earliest Christmas memory?
My earliest memory is probably living at my Grandmas and having the whole family over for Christmas. There was so much Christmas joy for 4 year old me to take in! All the gifts sprawled across the lounge floor, everyone gathered in the dining room for drinks and nibbles and finally my Grandmas roast dinner would appear! It was pour Christmas bliss!
Question 10 – What makes Christmas special for you?
I’m so lucky that I have all of my family around me. We may not be near to each other, or see each other every day but we always have phone calls to wish each other a ‘Merry Christmas’. Having Darcie hear now, the Christmas spirit really seems to be properly back (not that it ever went away), I feel like a child again myself.
Merry Christmas everyone, and a Happy New Year!
